Chief Executive Officer

Erin is the CEO of Girls Inc. of Los Angeles, an organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. She is a non-profit veteran, Erin previously served as the Senior Managing Director of External Affairs at City Year Los Angeles, leading the site’s public and private funding strategies, government relations, community partnerships and marketing and communications work. Erin began her career at City Year on the Los Angeles start-up team in 2006, where she was instrumental in founding the site. From there, she ran the development department for more than a decade, building the strong base of donors and champions that have helped the site grow and sustain. More recently, she led the site in efforts to grow public revenue, including leading a strategy to access state dollars, expand into Inglewood Unified and renegotiate City Year’s contract with LA Unified.

Erin proudly served on the Board of Changeist (formerly Big Citizen HUB) for eight years. She is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University. 

Erin graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University. She is also a graduate of Leadership L.A. Erin lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Mike Liotta, son Duncan and dog Rocket.

  • Dorian Garcia

    SHE/HER

    DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS

    Dorian oversees the program department, develops the overall program vision and strategy, and collaborates with Los Angeles Unified School District, and district stakeholders. In addition, she supports Board Member engagement.

    She grew up in San Bernardino, California, and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Secondary Education at the University of California Riverside. Following college, she went to work in the non-profit education sector in Los Angeles for the next ten years.

    Her passion for educational equity, youth development and gender equity brought her to work for Girls Inc. of LA!

  • Stefani Gunduz

    SHE/HER

    DATA & OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

    Stefani oversees the organization's operations and volunteer experience connecting passionate individuals with opportunities to empower girls, administers data management of organizational programs in partnership with LA Unified Schools, and supports in logistics of school-wide events and field trips.

    Her passion for mission-driven organizations stemmed from interning with a nonprofit in family development, which motivated her to pursue a Bachelor's in Sociology at California State Dominguez Hills University.

    Before joining Girls Inc. LA, Stefani worked in a nonprofit for eight years dedicated to education and family missions in Orange and Los Angeles County. She is a proud Angeleno from West Los Angeles.

  • Ariana Jordan

    SHE/HER

    DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

    Ariana is focused on building out the fundraising apparatus by cultivating relationships with individual donors. She supports grant writing efforts and raises awareness of Girls Inc. LA programming to support the growth of the organization.

    Using her platform, Ariana has led and fostered communities with first-generation women in college and high school students on the South and West sides of Chicago to amplify their voices through storytelling.

    Ariana is a native of the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, and has a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from DePaul University.

  • Iran Lara

    SHE/HER

    PROGRAM FACILITATOR

    Iran is instrumental in building community and facilitating programming at two elementary schools.

    She recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Business. Her undergraduate experience highlighted the importance of confidence and strong education and aligns with Girls Inc. programming whose core is to mold girls into confident individuals.

    As a former LAUSD student, she is excited for the opportunity to teach girls to be strong, smart and bold and to continuously learn from the communities that shaped who she is today.

  • Kate Morris

    SHE/HER

    PROGRAM & CURRICULUM MANAGER

    Kate manages the development and implementation of our curriculum by creating fun and engaging lessons to ensure we deliver high-quality programming. In her role, she supports Program Facilitators with coaching and training.

    Kate majored in Crisis Communication at the University of Kentucky, while working as a personal trainer, a resident advisor and interning for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

    Kate really enjoys being in the classrooms and seeing students thrive in the Girls Inc. spaces as they learn new skills and take risks! She is excited to see students continue to grow into strong, smart and bold young people!

  • Dai Ja Porter

    SHE/HER

    PROGRAM MANAGER


    Dai Ja oversees the implementation of the Girls Inc. experience on school campuses and provides support to Program Facilitators through coaching and training. Additionally, her role involves collaborating with stakeholders and managing events.

    Dai Ja, a Los Angeles native, graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Health and Human Sciences. Her career has been marked by a journey through various fields, starting in mental health with a focus on program management. She later transitioned to marketing, focusing on strategic communication, and then moved into luxury event production and project management.

    Dai Ja enjoys seeing each girl’s curiosity and creativity flourish within the Girls Inc. space. She is excited to contribute to a dedicated environment that empowers young girls to become strong, smart and bold individuals.

  • Symphony Powell

    SHE/HER

    PROGRAM FACILITATOR

    Symphony is responsible for facilitating programming for our middle schools. She incorporates real life experiences of our girls to further develop confidence, social skills and leadership.

    Symphony is from Sacramento, California and has recently graduated from University of California Riverside with her degree in Sociology and Law and Society.

    Her goal is to create a space where young girls can seek reprieve, community and have fun.

  • Olivia Ramirez

    SHE/HER

    PROGRAM FACILITATOR

    Olivia facilitates programming and builds community at elementary schools.

    She has a background of teaching in informal science education and has a degree in Earth System Science from the University of California Irvine. She is excited to provide mentorship and help young girls learn lifelong skills.

    Olivia is driven to create a safe space where girls can be themselves and learn to be strong, smart and bold.

  • Ana Zavala

    SHE/HER

    DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

    Ana leads the development and communication efforts managing annual fundraising campaigns, supporting corporate partnerships and bringing visibility to the organization.

    She has a background working with youth in under-resourced communities, providing the resources and support needed to thrive.

    Ana earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior with a minor in Education and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management. Born and raised in South East Los Angeles, she is dedicated to the education and empowerment of youth in her community.
